Wow!
there's a lot in this one that doesn't seem to be right on the surface. I think I need to do a little research on this one, to find out exactly what Paul is talking about in this chapter. He makes several references that I don't get.....but, must be important.
Wow, you aren't kidding this short chapter is chalked full of important direction. I'll leave a comment today and I will re-read it tomorrow even though I'm already a day behind you.
ReplyDeleteChrist, 3 in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. 4 I tell you this so that no one may deceive you by fine-sounding arguments. 5 For though I am absent from you in body, I am present with you in spirit and delight to see how disciplined you are and how firm your faith in Christ is.
This is a comforting verse to me, because he addresses what he knew would be coming and be a challenge for someone like me. Some times I feel in adequate to explain my faith and people can make 'fine-sounding arguments' against the existence of God. The closer I am to Him the less these fine sounding arguments will have any impact at all on me because he is wisdom and knowledge and I will possess at least a better insight of that the closer I am to Him.
more tomorrow.
