Hebrews 6

I've been waiting for you to write on this one for a couple of days.
I don't sense much cohesion here.  I like the first portion of the chapter where it talks about not falling away from God.  If you do, you are sacrificing Jesus again, and again.  That's a pretty powerful image.

But the second part I don't get at all.
God swears by himself, since he's the highest thing........duh!

any wisdom from the midwest?

  1. sorry not much help here, I have been reading and re-reading and also looking up commentary. the best thing I found was reading it in the The Message version, just giving us the picture of hope of eternal salvation that we can trust is there for us to carry through our tough times here on earth--

    18-20 We who have run for our very lives to God have every reason to grab the promised hope with both hands and never let go. It’s an unbreakable spiritual lifeline, reaching past all appearances right to the very presence of God where Jesus, running on ahead of us, has taken up his permanent post as high priest for us, in the order of Melchizedek.
