Luke 7

40 Jesus answered him, “Simon, I have something to tell you.”
“Tell me, teacher,” he said.
41 “Two people owed money to a certain moneylender. One owed him five hundred denarii,[c]and the other fifty. 42 Neither of them had the money to pay him back, so he forgave the debts of both. Now which of them will love him more?”
43 Simon replied, “I suppose the one who had the bigger debt forgiven.”

duh, do you think so...This little exchange between Simon and Jesus struck me today.   In just a couple sentences he is able to draw a picture for Simon that probably humbles him as he recognizes this dirty woman in his eyes loves Jesus more than him.

I need to remember he has forgiven a huge debt for me and my love of him should reflect that...does it?

  1. Jesus always had the perfect thing to say to make it ridiculously clear what he was trying to communicate. In some ways, what he does is take all the selfishness out of the equation, and make you look at the root of the issue.
    BRILLIANT!
