Exodus 7
23 Instead, he turned and went into his palace, and did not take even this to heart.
In chapt 6 we see another list of names. These chapters make me think its demonstrating these are not just stories but capturing history.
Chapter 7 we see the miracles being performed have no impact on Pharaoh in fact its almost the opposite he seems dismissive . How often does God do miracles in the world today or work directly in my life and I am dismissive or oblivious to his works?
I don't think I'm the Pharaoh, but sometimes I may not be much better.

I read a couple of translations on this one just to try to grab something. In the message version it says this, "He turned on his heel and went home, never giving it a second thought." That feels even more cavalier than the NIV, doesn't it?
ReplyDeleteThe other thing that disturbs me in these chapters is how Pharoah's sorcerers could imitate the miracles that Moses and Aaron were bringing about. When I put that into todays context......people have a hard enough time finding God, and seeing his actions around them. Why in the world would God make it possible to replicate his signs, by some other means? I don't know. I do know that this was all part of God's plan for this situation (and all situations)....I just wish he would make it a little easier for us!
