Jeremiah 12

5 “If you have raced with men on foot and they have worn you out, how can you compete with horses? If you stumble[a] in safe country, how will you manage in the thickets by[b] the Jordan?,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, 17 But if any nation does not listen, I will completely uproot and destroy it,” declares the Lord. ................................................................................................................ My web browser is causing this to post funny so I forces some spacing in. These two verses hit me, some days the rat race has me worn out probably because I try to run it on my own without his help. Countries all over the world are not listening to Him, including the USA, he is clear the end result.................................................................... no great takes today, but the words of 2500 years ago are still so relevent today which is always inspiring to me during my morning read. knut

  1. 1-4 You are right, O God, and you set things right.
I can’t argue with that. But I do have some questions:
Why do bad people have it so good?
Why do con artists make it big?
You planted them and they put down roots.
    They flourished and produced fruit.
They talk as if they’re old friends with you,
but they couldn’t care less about you.
Meanwhile, you know me inside and out.
You don’t let me get by with a thing!
Make them pay for the way they live,
pay with their lives, like sheep marked for slaughter.
How long do we have to put up with this—
the country depressed, the farms in ruin—
And all because of wickedness, these wicked lives?
Even animals and birds are dying off
Because they’ll have nothing to do with God
and think God has nothing to do with them.

I'm with ya. I was just asked this very question by Max. He is frustrated sometimes by being the Christian at school. I'm trying to re-inforce to him that those kids that are teasing him won't be important to him in the future, so stop worrying about what they say or do. Here's my goto line, "you know how many kids that I grew up with, that I'm still in touch with?...........really 1"
A little off track to the grander scope that you are talking about, but something that's relevant to my conversations with the family.
