ch39 18 I will save you; you will not fall by the sword but will escape with your life, because you trust in me, declares the Lord.’”
All the destruction of Jerusalem that Jeremiah has been preaching would be coming is now arriving. It must have been terrifying to see unfold and in the middle of all the destruction the only thing that saved him was his trust and faith in the Lord.
Not be any physical actions of himself or anyone else, just 'trust in me'. Simple lesson, hard to execute.

there's only one thing more scary than a crazy person making wild predictions about the future......and that's when the predictions start coming true!
ReplyDeleteI think the underlying message with all of the Jeremiah so far, is trust. How much to you trust God. Are you willing to do what he asks? Are you willing to do some crazy things if he asks you too? If you are willing, things will work out for you, and you will have his favor. If not, you are on your own.
Its good to have you back.
This book has been a real slog for me. Trying to stay faithful, but am waining.
