In my own self centered world....I really want to be liked. but,
18 “If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. 19 If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you.
This verse tells me that if I'm liked by the world...I'm not living a truth life for Christ.
Something to keep in mind.
I have really been trying lately to show others love. Christ said the greatest command is love, and when people look at Christians, they should see love. Its an interesting mix to show love, and be hated at the same time.
That doesn't seem to be a very good ROI. At least not in this world.

that does seem like a paradox, and i have to say I don't feel hated by the world so maybe that should be concerning. Maybe I don't feel it because I'm to quiet about what I know to be true?

Last night at our church Governing board meeting a team member lead us in a devotion time and she played the song above. It also tugs at me to make sure i'm testifying about what I know--that Jesus is the ONLY way to be saved. Maybe I don't because I'm afraid to be hated by the world, its easier just to be quiet versus draw attacks for sharing my beliefs.
