Time to kick off another book--
Ch 1-27 I saw that from what appeared to be his waist up he looked like glowing metal, as if full of fire, and that from there down he looked like fire; and brilliant light surrounded him.
Consistently throughout the bible when there are visions of encounters with God it is describe with brilliantly bright light. It must really go beyond what human words can describe. Those who experience it seem changed forever, they have an absolute faith that cannot be challenged or weakened by any humans.
Ch 2- 7 You must speak my words to them, whether they listen or fail to listen, for they are rebellious.
And so Ezekiel is about to be given revelations he must share that are probably not going to be well received. But I guessing his experience in ch. 1 was so burned into his being that there is no doubt in his mind he needs to share all that is revealed to him.
I am imaging if I could grab onto even a sliver of this level of faith the impact God could have on those within my circle of influence.

Being a visual person......I typed in Ezekiels vision into yahoo, and looked at the images that came up. Its pretty crazy. I found myself trying to picture what he was describing. Its really hard. It seems disjointed and doesn't make sense. I wonder if a person from this early time saw an airplane, how would they describe it. hmmm.......wierd.
ReplyDeleteI COMPLETELY agree with your idea. Although I'm not sure I'm up for a vision of that magnitude....imagine how your life would look if you were that emboldended. Unwaivering faith and committment, not matter what the cost was. It just doesn't matter to you.
Wow!
