12 “Please test your servants for ten days: Give us nothing but vegetables to eat and water to drink...15 At the end of the ten days they looked healthier and better nourished than any of the young men who ate the royal food.
This chapter appears to be mostly setup so I don't have any major takeaways. The part about the 10 day diet test did catch my eye for some reason. So going vegetarian for 10 days made a difference they could see. We go to Cabo in January, so there is time for me to go on a quick veggie diet to start looking healthier.
I don't think we are supposed to be testing God but maybe trying to live by the principles he gives us and then stopping after a period and taking note of how our lives look differently when we do this a good thing to do? Maybe its a way to evangelize too? speaking with someone about tithing for a period and see how you feel different....for example
that's it. I was going to take us back to the NT but with only 4 days until Christmas I figured we could just continue in the OT. Maybe we can get through daniel by early January.
hope all is well.

I think daniel is a good plan. The same test caught my attention. In our day and age, we call 10 days of vegatables and water a "detox"....hahaha....
ReplyDeleteI didn't take it as a test for God, but more a test for the guard. I read it that Daniel knew they would be fine not eating/drinking from the royal table.
I agree with the set up. More to come.
My advise on the Cabo body......don't worry about it. I couldn't believe what people were parading around, and pround of, in Punta Cana....hilarious.
