David was well connected with God, understatement. But I'm curious how much he could truly grasp the revelations Nathan shared with him. I presume this section to be speaking of Jesus. Does David truly get it? How overwhelming would that feeling be?

I didn't read it that way....but, you're absolutely right! When I was fist reading it, I was assuming that God was talking about Solomon and how he built the temple. But I completely missed it. Jesus absolutely fits the description as well. He even referred to himself as the "temple" that would be destroyed and rebuilt in 3 days.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to assume (very dangerous here) that David didn't foresee what you saw in hindsight. I'm sure he took the prophesy as the literal translation that I read.
Then again.....you never know.
