1 Chronicles 17

11 When your days are over and you go to be with your ancestors, I will raise up your offspring to succeed you, one of your own sons, and I will establish his kingdom.

David was well connected with God, understatement.  But I'm curious how much he could truly grasp the revelations Nathan shared with him.  I presume this section to be speaking of Jesus.  Does David truly get it?  How overwhelming would that feeling be?

I don't have a specific takeaway just this observation.

  1. I didn't read it that way....but, you're absolutely right! When I was fist reading it, I was assuming that God was talking about Solomon and how he built the temple. But I completely missed it. Jesus absolutely fits the description as well. He even referred to himself as the "temple" that would be destroyed and rebuilt in 3 days.
I'm going to assume (very dangerous here) that David didn't foresee what you saw in hindsight. I'm sure he took the prophesy as the literal translation that I read.
    Then again.....you never know.

See that?! Look how much to added to my life today.....from 600 miles away!

I'll be out on vacation next week. My participation will be mostly spotty.
