28 Everyone ought to examine themselves before they eat of the bread and drink from the cup. 29 For those who eat and drink without discerning the body of Christ eat and drink judgment on themselves.
Don't just go through the motions but actually take time to do a little self evaluation and present before God the sins I know I have committed and truly ask for forgiveness. Don't just chomp down the bread and slam the juice like a robot. Sounds like doing that is worse than not even taking the elements of communion in the first place.
