This REEKS of western culture....doesn't it?
This is where I sit, mentally, a lot. I was just saying to Kim last night that we are sniffing a milestone in our "work" 401K. That is something I really pay close attention to. The security is more important than it probably should be. And if there is a lover of pleasure, or of the leisure...its me.
At their core, I don't think there's anything wrong with the examples I wrote down. But, if they become the priority rather than my relationship and reliance on God, then there's a problem of the heart.
I'm slogging through these chapters. Maybe we need a change for a bit.
What do ya think? There are 66 chapter in Isaiah. Or we just double em up and be done in 2 weeks.

my internet died and i lost all i typed. not redoing it except the part about saying I'm sorry you had to go through so much stress and I just pray that God brings you and your entire family through these tough times.
ReplyDeletei say we slog through the rest but maybe going 2-3 chapters at a time even it it means a light skim and picking out a nugget like you were able to do with this chapter.
I was in New Orleans last week. Mom gets an MRI tomorrow to see what next step on the hip is so that is good.
Maybe in 2020 we can connect face to face. Life is always so busy but maybe next fall will feel different--empty nesting it. We would sure love to connect with you and Kim even if for just a quick weekend.
I'm praying for you and so thankful I am still connected with you after over 40yrs--i really love that and you and your family!
