Jeremiah 7

Do not trust in deceptive words and say, “This is the temple of the Lord, the temple of the Lord, the temple of the Lord!”

I didn't get a ton today.  But from this I took, be real with God he knows everything anyway.  Don't go do whatever your sinful ways desire or behave in a way that you know is not what God desires and then show up in church on Sunday and pretend like you have God in your heart.  Don't be a hypocrite.  Don't waste his time or yours--its probably not fooling other people and it certainly isn't fooling him and is leading to our own destruction.

Be real with God is my take.

  1. 11 Has this house, which bears my Name, become a den of robbers to you? But I have been watching! declares the Lord.

Here's my verse today. It reminded me of when Jesus over-threw the tables in the Synagogue. It is just another reminder that the Old and New Testament are so closely intertwined. I think even the verbage is the similar. It also shows that over the period of time between when Jeremiah was written and when Jesus entered the temple court....the people haven't changed. They are still committing the same sins and atrocities. And....we are still doing it today.
I like your end line. Be real with God!
