11 And she made a vow, saying, “LORD Almighty, if you will only look on your servant’s misery and remember me, and not forget your servant but give her a son, then I will give him to the LORD for all the days of his life, and no razor will ever be used on his head.”
I took from this its OK to ask God for something your soul needs to be happy--sometimes I don't feel like I should be asking. Hannah was is misery without a child, she asked God to allow her to have a child--and in this case he answered yes. Maybe he won't always give us we want or ask for, but Hannah's story tells me its OK to have that conversation with Him--in fact I think he wants us to have the conversation.
