1 Samuel 26 -knut

I don't have any specific takes here.  I wonder what is the significance of telling the story that David spares Saul's life again?  It does show how quickly and easily someone who is not following God will repeat sinful ways, Saul had just acted like he was sorry for trying to kill David yet here he is at it again.

Does anything strike you in this one?

  1. couple of things hit me when reading this........we've been reading about Saul and all of the crazy things he is doing....and he kinda becomes a villan. But David recognizes that Saul is still the one that was chosen by God to rule the people, and therefore must not be killed....or treated like he treats his enemies.
    Second,
25 Then Saul said to David, “May you be blessed, David my son; you will do great things and surely triumph.”
I almost get the feeling that Saul realizes here that he is up against something that he cannot beat. He acknowledges that David will "triumph".
