WOW!
22 Then the woman went to all the people with her wise advice, and they cut off the head of Sheba son of Bikri and threw it to Joab. So he sounded the trumpet, and his men dispersed from the city, each returning to his home. And Joab went back to the king in Jerusalem.
Was this Xena the warrior princess?....sheesh
Some of the brutality in the Old Testament is hard to believe. It seems there is not a high regard for life sometimes. A different time, I guess.
just catching up here. I find these chapters difficult to follow with all the references to names and sons of x and y.
ReplyDeleteI found a study that had 1 question/answer that was interesting:
Sheba is called a “rebel,” or literally, “Son of Belial.” Why is this significant?
Answer: Belial is another name for Satan. This rebellion was a further attempt to bring the dynasty of David to an end, because Satan knew that the Messiah was to come through the line of David.
Interesting info, if in fact its true. As I was reading the chapter I was wondering what is significant about it that God would be sharing with us. Maybe it is just an illustration of the devils failed attempt to derail God's plan.
