If the root is Holy, so are the branches.
I like this line. Sort-of a foundation sorta statement. where are you grounded?
The rest of the verse is talking about being a branch grafted into a flourishing olive tree. This speaks to me in building relationships with those around you that are living their lives for Christ. If one person suffers, or is in need, the rest of the branches help out....but, its all predicated on the where your roots are planted.

still catching up...I was focusing in on that analogy too. I was thinking of it in terms of our kids too and how much more likely it is they will follow God if Gina and I are rooted in deep belief and faith otherwise they would need to be grafted in to another other. I was thinking too of what our pastor says at the end of every service, "see you next week...bring a friend" an opportunity to graft in another olive branch, but something I don't seem to do but need too.
