Hebrews 12

I'll be honest.  When I read these chapters, I don't find many "ah-ha" moments.  I like what is written and I understand it, but don't grab much that I think is worth writing in here.

Here's what I did grab today.
Somebody once told me that if the football coach stops yelling at you.....then you're in trouble.  If he IS yelling at you that means there's still hope for you and you should listen.
I think that's what the middle portion of the chapter is saying about God and discipline.  It might seem ugly and painful at the time, but the end result is that you become a better person, and know that God still considers you one of his own.

any other thoughts?

  1. that's why I didn't post yesterday, I really didn't have anything unique to post. I agree with your take on discipline.

12... And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, 2 fixing our eyes on Jesus...3 Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.

So these pieces of the 1st 3 verses can provide some motivation. There is a specific life marked out for me, if and when it seems difficult don't lose sight of Jesus and remember what he had to endure for me and that he is there for me today to give me strength.

    that's all i got--later knut
