44 On the next Sabbath almost the whole city gathered to hear the word of the Lord.
I find the story of the early church interesting to follow and I have supplemented by doing some google searches. This is one short verse but an illustration of the how powerful Paul and Barnabas' message must have been to convert so many Jews that on the next Sabbath you had virtually the entire city gathering.

I was struck in this chapter by the interaction with the sorcerer. How much of our society today would fall into that category? It seems that most of the planet is working against God....or at least it feels that way sometimes. But, Paul put him in his place. I wish I had the God-confidence to speak up and put someone in their rightful place.....but, I usually don't.
ReplyDeleteI think that's the difference between being a casual Christian and being completely filled with the Holy Spirit.
Getting into a prayer rhythmn would really help this.
