Zechariah 9

9-10 “Shout and cheer, Daughter Zion!
    Raise the roof, Daughter Jerusalem!
Your king is coming!
a good king who makes all things right,
a humble king riding a donkey,
a mere colt of a donkey.

This prophecy was written 500 years or so before it happened--nailed it!  I read Tom's post on this, he had a cool perspective.  He was noting through time all the fan fair world leaders in victory parades and sports hero welcomes with ticker tape parades and riding in on fancy cars or flying in on luxury jets vs the contrast of Jesus parade on a donkey.

Then he says--
"One of the things I love about Jesus, one of the things that leads me to believe that he is exactly who He claimed to be, is that He is not like any of the others my history books describe. He is a King, though not of this world.
Jesus is nothing that I have come to expect, and everything that I’ve discovered I need."
pretty cool

  1. I couldn't agree with Tom more. Just that fact about how he came into the city proves he isn't a normal person. Nobody would do that. The human in us wouldn't allow us to be humbled like that. Our selfishness just couldn't take it.

    Have a great weekend!
