Jeremiah 1
17 “Get yourself ready! Stand up and say to them whatever I command you. Do not be terrified by them, or I will terrify you before them....19 They will fight against you but will not overcome you, for I am with you and will rescue you,” declares the Lord.
So in this case the Lord was telling Jeremiah to have confidence against the nations from the north that would be coming presumably to attack Jerusalem and he tells him to get yourself ready and that he would be with him so don't worry.
While we may not be under any physical attack, we do have the constant attack of our society on our beliefs and values. We can get ourselves ready by continuing to study his word and deepen our faith that He is always with us. If we have that faith there is nothing we need to worry about and infact we need to be bold in His name and share our faith and He will take care of the rest. Interesting too that he tells Jeremiah if you are terrified...I will terrify you before them, so I'm thinking go bold or go home.
I think I have some work to do in being bold.

After everything we've read....and studied.....and learned. There should be no reason to fear a bold proclamation that God is the one and only. Yet, I do feel that little strike of panic when I get into a situation where I know I will be tested. This chapter says you're either all in, and the opinions of the world don't matter....even if they might seem to defeat you intially, or you will be filled with fear.
