Jeremiah 26

Tell them everything I command you; do not omit a word. 3 Perhaps they will listen and each will turn from their evil ways. Then I will relent and not inflict on them the disaster I was planning because of the evil they have done.

We are currently going thru a series at church where we are studying what love really means.  Yesterdays message really hit me.  Love = grace + truth.  It speak volumes to me, and I won't go into it too much.  But, it seems to me that God is always there with the truth about our actions.  He sees everything that we are doing, and is disgusted with the things that go against him.  This entire book shows that character trait in him.  But, at the same time, he is right there with the grace if we choose to own our behavior and change it.  He gives the people so many chances.  Even after all they have done, he still gives them another chance to change.  He is still doing that with us today.  He doesn't let us off the hook for the things we are doing, but offers us his grace, if we repent and choose him.

amazing!

  1. you picked the same verse as me, and I think you nailed it with Grace. So I went back to see if I could find something else...and another look did make me notice something.

But Uriah heard of it and fled in fear to Egypt. 22 King Jehoiakim, however, sent Elnathan son of Akbor to Egypt, along with some other men. 23 They brought Uriah out of Egypt and took him to King Jehoiakim, who had him struck down....

I struggled for a bit with this because different then Jeremiah and the 2 other examples Uriah was actually killed for prophesying the LORD. But I noticed Uriah didn't trust God--he feared men. Ultimately fleeing from men didn't save him...had he stayed and trusted God it seems the ending would have been different. Psalm 27:1 The Lord is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear?

    Good stuff!
