Ezekial 34

11 “‘For this is what the Sovereign Lord says: I myself will search for my sheep and look after them....31 You are my sheep, the sheep of my pasture, and I am your God, declares the Sovereign Lord.’”

I believe he just gave the promise that God himself would come to earth to save his lost sheep---us.  Then hundreds of years later he did it when Jesus was born.  I started off this morning speed reading and I think I almost blew by this major prophesy listening more literally to the words than recognizing his message in it.  By the end he makes it really clear we are his sheep and I am thankful.

What a great promise he gave and has fulfilled.  I really love this chapter.

have a great weekend!

  1. I agree with the greatness of this message. He will provide the shepard for us. I also hear a frustration and maybe a little bit of warning in these words. God is talking about the fact that there isn't anyone who is leading the people. Keeping them together, and making them stronger. I think he is talking about the leaders of church.....but, I take that to mean all of us that profess to be Christians. Are we tending to the flock? hmmmmmm......I'm really good at tending to myself, and to my family. Sometimes I tend to others, but need to do that with much more deliberance.
