26 While they were eating, Jesus took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take and eat; this is my body.”
27 Then he took a cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you. 28 This is my blood of the[b]covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.
Our pastor just used this verse in our service yesterday. He said, "...isn't it amazing that Jesus is telling us to do something in remembrance of him.....that hasn't happened yet?" That is pretty mind blowing. If you are like me, sometimes doubt can creep into my reasoning. Then I hear something like this. It solidifies everything. There can be no doubt.
I think there is enough in this chapter to write a book on. Lots of lessons. Lots of things to think about. Many sermons right out of this chapter.

Yes doubt can creep in at times, which for me is why doing this chapter a day is so important to me. My faith is stronger when I read the bible and when I have the chance to hear you thoughts and struggles and to share mine as well.
ReplyDelete75 Then Peter remembered the word Jesus had spoken: “Before the rooster crows, you will disown me three times.” And he went outside and wept bitterly.
Convicting verse for me. So while I don't think I have ever verbally denied Jesus, there may be times in my silence I am effectively doing the same thing. How terrible it must have felt to hear the rooster crow and know you had let down the Messiah. I want to be strong enough in my faith to stand up for what I believe in all situations.
