5 For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; 6 and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; 7 and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love. 8 For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
I am sometimes frustrated with myself for being on fire for Jesus and then falling away, and then being back and then not so much. This is a direct recipe for how to NOT be caught in that cycle. There are very specific things to do here to keep me on track.

Sounds like work is stressful for you right now. It seems like that is a seasonal part of life, doesn't it? I will keep you, your gig, and your family in my thoughts and prayers.....mostly that you will find peace in the craziness....and to understand what God wants from you, in this current time.
16 For we did not follow cleverly devised stories when we told you about the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ in power, but we were eyewitnesses of his majesty.
ReplyDeleteI actually picked the exact verses as you, then saw what you wrote which was the same thought I had--my word was playbook instead of recipe but same lesson learned. So the verse I picked instead illustrates that Peter understood people would doubt and he is reassuring us. He had a firsthand account that impacted him deeply--he's not making this stuff up.
Thanks for the prayers. I don't know where the next few months will take me and my team. I just want to be a good leader in this storm. If I need to be moved out for fresh blood I understand, but many on my team would not know what to do next if they were not working in this space and creates great anxiety for them. I just pray I can be low on anxiety and behave in a way that reflects where my faith and treasure is stored.
