2 Take with you seven pairs of every kind of clean animal, a male and its mate, and one pair of every kind of unclean animal, a male and its mate, 3 and also seven pairs of every kind of bird, male and female, to keep their various kinds alive throughout the earth. 4 Seven days from now I will send rain on the earth for forty days and forty nights, and I will wipe from the face of the earth every living creature I have made.”
I don't know that I've ever caught this before. Seven pairs of every clean animal, and seven pairs of every bird. Seven days from now. The mental picture is 2 of everything.....but really its 14 of everything in these categories. Interesting. Second thing is the number 7. Numerology is not my strength. But, there is definitely significance to the number 7 pointing toward God, and his plans, actions, or way of doing business.
If they were in there for 150 days...what did they eat? Were they eating the animals? Or did they have a stock of herbs and cheeses? hahaha...

that is so strange. I had the exact same thoughts as I read through it, how did I ever miss that it was not just pairs but 7 pairs of the clean animals. I literally to recall seeing that ever and then you call it out too. I always wonder about the food part and about Noah being 600yrs old.
ReplyDeleteno great takes today. these illustrations require faith because my brain tells me all the reasons it doesn't make sense. But God can do anything, including sustaining life without its normal food source for 150 days if that is how he chose to make it happen.
