Numbers 3-4

So I was getting nothing from these chapters.  To the point I was wondering why is this book even in the bible.  I used the favorite web search engine and found many visuals depicting outlines of Numbers.  This doesn't help me derive any comments for these specific chapters but maybe helps see the bigger picture as we take a stroll through Numbers.

    Sooooooo......does this mean we are on to Deuteronomy? hahaha.....I would be fine with moving to something a little less.....you know. Maybe Proverbs? just sayin'

    So, this chapter goes through the sub-divisions of the Levites. Interesting? I'm sure it is. But, like you said...I'm not smart enough to see the nuggets in there.
    The only thing that strikes me, is the relationship to Paul's message in Ephesians about the fact that we all have skills and talents that need to be brought together to make the church community work. This is a little like that. Each subdivision has been given a specific task to execute.
    One thing that brings up questions in my mind is the part about, if you get out of your swim-lane....and touch something you that isn't in your task list....you will die. That seems a little harsh doesn't it? That doesn't feel like the relationship based faith that Jesus preached.....just sayin'
