So looking to dip my toe back in the water I used a random bible chapter generator--scientific ha. I read the entire chapter though going forward I may or may not drive through an entire chapter at once. I am suggesting we just let it flow a bit more vs. plowing through an entire book or even a chapter. Bounce where ever we might feel lead. so today this verse seems fitting--

Everyonewho competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever.
We are in the game of life. COVID as thrown us a wrench. I fell off the wagon of discipline getting into the bible. We don't go to church in person at the moment. Gina and I do listen to a service or two and she continues to study the bible daily. Me not so much.
Paul reminds me that I do need to be in the word and studying it to train for the game of life. Today is a start--not even a wind sprint, just a restart.

thanks for the direction today. Here's my section that grabbed me
ReplyDelete19 Though I am free and belong to no one, I have made myself a slave to everyone, to win as many as possible. 20 To the Jews I became like a Jew, to win the Jews. To those under the law I became like one under the law (though I myself am not under the law), so as to win those under the law. 21 To those not having the law I became like one not having the law (though I am not free from God’s law but am under Christ’s law), so as to win those not having the law. 22 To the weak I became weak, to win the weak. I have become all things to all people so that by all possible means I might save some. 23 I do all this for the sake of the gospel, that I may share in its blessings.
I love it. In the current political climate, where you love your side and hate the other....its a great reminder to me that I can't "win" anybody" with that kind of attitude. We all need to be in this together. Putting yourself in other shoes is a great way to build relationship and then direct them where the attention should be. Focused on God.
Thanks for the push

Nice take...and we are off and running!
