Genesis 1

31 God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning—the sixth day.

I just felt like reading Genesis 1 today, not sure why.  I'm not sure I have any really learning or take away.  Maybe it just gave me a little peace today.   There is a nice cadence to the book as God describes how he designed our world.  The nice clear and simple order feels good especially as life feels chaotic sometimes.

I am thankful for the gifts and blessings he has given me and my family.  I pray for protection of my kids and yours as the struggle to live into the next adult phases of their lives.  Be with them always.

  1. Back to the beginning! I like it!
26 Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals,[a] and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”

This verse always gets me. The "us" and the "our." Plural reference to God, meaning the 3 in 1. Right there in the first chapter. A reference to the construct that will follow throughout the rest of the 66 books. Amazing to me. Some people talk of inconsistencies in the bible, or passages that seem mixed up or contradictory. I think the opposite. I'm amazed at how consistent it is, for being written over such a large span of time, by many different authors. Crazy to think its not all true!
