Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.
Kids are home from college. My anxiety rises as I wonder if Luke is planning for his next step after he graduates in December. I want to jump in and take action, tell him what to do. But I know that won't work. I've been praying for what feels like forever for him to find his passion, get some work to learn good habits but I don't see progress on my timeline. Praying to remove anxiety and trust in God's plan for Luke.

ReplyDeleteIts a tough spot to be in as a parent. I have the same fears and hesitations. But, My boys situations are a little different. Max has zero interest in college, and is now working at a medical Majiuana dispensary. Ben is going to community college in the fall, but really doesn't know what he wants to do. Its tough to watch them struggle, and to make bad decisions. Especially in the age of social media. They compare themselves to everyone. Its brutal.
My philosophy is to show them great love and respect. And to implement the "Let go, and let God" philosophy. I can't control it, so I might as well come to terms with that. God has greater plans for them than I do anyway.
This is my daily mental struggle. Some days I succeed. Some days I fail.
