Mark 2

All I have to say this morning is........."is this thing on?"
hahahahahahah!

17 On hearing this, Jesus said to them, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”

I love it when Jesus says things like this.  It means something completely different to him than it means to the audience it was intended for.  To the priests.....I'm sure they heard this line with the understanding that they are the righteous.  But, in reality, I think Jesus was saying he has come for everyone....cause we're all sinners.

He's so smart.....

  1. ding, ding, ding we have a winner! You, Tom and I all picked this verse out today. Living in the US suburbia and being a good church going man...I am certainly at risk for acting like a Pharisee, I need to guard against being like them. Their behavior seems ridiculous, but I wonder how often I judge others against my own rule book.

another verse that caught my attention was 21 “No one sews a patch of unshrunk cloth on an old garment. Otherwise, the new piece will pull away from the old, making the tear worse.

I'm not sure I have clarity on this one but the stuff I read suggested this was a parable illustrating the old covenant and the new covenant in Jesus. Not sure I fully understand the illustration of 'making the tear worse' --any insight?
