Isaiah 19

22 The Lord will strike Egypt with a plague; he will strike them and heal them. They will turn to the Lord, and he will respond to their pleas and heal them.

I picked this verse, because it is a microcosm of the entire bible.  And really you could say, it describes our complete human existence with God.  We are happy with him, then we start to rely on ourselves and turn away.  He gets angry.  We cry out to him to save us....and he does.  Over and over and over.

It has to be exhausting to him.  And horribly frustrating.
I'm probably not strong enough to break that chain, but just realizing that how we are and being humble about it....is probably a great first step.

  1. 16 In that day the Egyptians will become weaklings. They will shudder with fear at the uplifted hand that the Lord Almighty raises against them. 17 And the land of Judah will bring terror to the Egyptians; everyone to whom Judah is mentioned will be terrified, because of what the Lord Almighty is planning against them.

More prophesy research for me today. I read one author who says the 6 day war in 1967 when Israel took the gaza strip is most certainly this passage.

I really don't know but just continue to be fascinated by how the middle east continues to be at the center of world action for thousands of years. its more than coincidence
