24:21 In that day the Lord will punish
the powers in the heavens above
and the kings on the earth below.
More of a wondering today than a take since I wasn't getting much. This one caught my eye, who is it that God will be punishing in the end times? Matthew Henry's commentary says it includes or is angels who went beyond their powers are are being held in chains until the end times. So to me that would mean there are angels getting in trouble all the time and getting locked up, I don't see any reason it would only have occurred before the end of the Bible times.
not sure I buy it, this seems like an example of our little human minds trying to make sense of something we can't comprehend. sometimes I just have to leave it to faith rather than torture my brain. I will say Matthew Henry cited some other scripture to support his analysis--so not trying to throw him under the bus.

I pulled this verse. It reminds me of all the hot air blowing in our capital right now. I think we have people leading our country that think they are larger than the collective. This is a gentle reminder that there isn't anyone larger than God. And, he can smack anyone down in a heartbeat. Its a humbling thought, but also comforting at the same time. It seems like a smart place to put your alliance.
Your take is fascinating. I read right past it. I think you're right. Seems like one of those things that will be clear in the end. But, for now just cause brain cramps.
How are the job and life decisions coming?

They extended the date to make an initial election to participate in the VSP to 12/18. I don't think I will elect to take it. I might still put in for it, but then back out by Jan 13th. Its 18mo pay, but right now if I work until I'm 55 i get access to JD health care in retirement. If I leave now i don't get that which probably forces me to get another job---so I probably will role the dice an hope I still have a job.
ReplyDeletemy two bosses have both indicated they think they need this current role for 2more years. I actually recommended it get cut, but I think they are not certain how to manage without it. so time will tell. I'm not stressed about it, but do look forward to getting to the end of January to see how things sort out. thanks for asking. I am now at least praying about it too, but i am not getting any clear direction.
