19 Moreover, when God gives someone wealth and possessions, and the ability to enjoy them, to accept their lot and be happy in their toil—this is a gift of God.
nothing struck me too hard today. don't talk to much, do what you say your going to do, possessions are fleeting. As long as you don't get priorities out of order its good to be happy with your work and any wealth and possession God has gifted us with. As I type this I just got my take away, job/wealth is a gift not something I did or earned--be thankful not prideful.

here's the last paragraph, as its written in the message translation
ReplyDelete18-20 After looking at the way things are on this earth, here’s what I’ve decided is the best way to live: Take care of yourself, have a good time, and make the most of whatever job you have for as long as God gives you life. And that’s about it. That’s the human lot. Yes, we should make the most of what God gives, both the bounty and the capacity to enjoy it, accepting what’s given and delighting in the work. It’s God’s gift! God deals out joy in the present, the now. It’s useless to brood over how long we might live.
WHAt!!?? did I read that right?
Take care of yourself, and have a good time? hhhhmmmmmmm....not what I expected.
