Ecclesiastes 7

The heart of the wise is in the house of mourning,
but the heart of fools is in the house of pleasure.

I felt like I was reading a Proverb today, even went back up to the top to make sure I was in the right section.  As I read this verse today I thought I probably do learn more about myself if difficult times than I do when all is going well.

More importantly, when can you have a greater impact for God's kingdom?  Contributing to the good times people are having or being there for them--investing in them, when they are in a struggle?  I think the latter, not that you can't in good times too but it seems like its easier to show you care for someone when they are in the midst of a challenge and it can open doors to sharing your faith with them.

  1. 3 sections caught my attention this morning.
The first was the same one you wrote.
The second was 9 Don’t be quick to fly off the handle. Anger boomerangs. You can spot a fool by the lumps on his head. That one just makes me laugh. Reminds me of a Bugs Bunny cartoon or something like that.
    Thirdly,
I didn’t find one man or woman in a thousand worth my while. Yet I did spot one ray of light in this murk: God made men and women true and upright; we’re the ones who’ve made a mess of things. I think this one is so true. God laid the ground work, and we are continuously messing it up. I feel this way as the Right, conservative group wrestles with the issues of today. Are we making it any better? Are we adding any Gody influence on the situation?, or are we just adding more fuel to the fire that burns against us? I think I know the answer.......
