I'm enjoying reading Acts and just reflecting on how it must have been for them as they started their work of spreading the Good Word following Jesus ascension to heaven. The obviously had a fire burning in their heart that could not be put out by anyone including the most powerful in their community.
Should we listen to today's society or do as God has instructed us through His word? Simple question and I know the answer, and yet don't always follow through. What am I afraid of?

I was reading todays chapter and thinking about the zeal at which the Jewish leaders were trying to stop Peter and John. If I'm not mistaken, there were other religions around in those days. Isn't it strange that the religious leaders weren't spending much time talking about, or trying to stop them......I won't why! The truth is stare-ing them in the face.....in an undeniable fashion. And yet, all they can think it how to squash it.
ReplyDeletecrazy--wasn't it Jesus they were waiting for and are still waiting for? I like the power of healing a man whom everyone knows has been lame for his whole life. that would be some elaborate hoax plan to set that up in advance. better than the Manti Teo crew
