14 Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet.
Today's chapter is a very familiar one. I have random thoughts flowing. Jesus is showing us how to be a servant leader something we can take with us in our jobs and others spheres of influence. He's showing us we need to help each other live a life that honors God, help keep each other clean. He's demonstrating how to create accountability. Using a small group of peers to not a big public forum to identify a sin one of them is committing not to belittle them but to get the issue on the table so it can be addressed and others can be a support network to help the individual.
maybe not the right thoughts but those are my thoughts this morning.

The feet washing blows my mind everytime I read it. It definitely shows how Jesus was willing to lower himself for these men who he knew probably weren't fully believing in him anyway. It also is rich with symbolism in how he cleanses us of the sin or dirt, in our lives.

this verse strikes me as our country is embroiled in this racial mess. I keep asking myself if I have some responsibility to do something. This verse tells me that whatever happens, I need to respond in love. People will see God thru my actions of love. I know that seems like a tiny thing considering everything that has gone on, in Baltimore and other places throughout the country. But, its what I can do.
