Numbers 7

The Lord said to Moses, “Accept these from them, that they may be used in the work at the tent of meeting. Give them to the Levites as each man’s work requires.”

89 When Moses entered the tent of meeting to speak with the Lord, he heard the voice speaking to him from between the two cherubim above the atonement cover on the ark of the covenant law. In this way the Lord spoke to him.

So it was very repetitious.  What can we make of this chapter?  One thing I note is that all 12 tribes contributed the same offering, I'm sure they did not all have the same resources but in this case they all gave back to God the exact same offering.  Another note is that many tribes contributed to the cause 12 of them and that God then told Moses give them to Levites as work is required.

In todays church we too have the many contributing and then a smaller group that is really using the resources God has made available through the offering of many to do his work.

you get anything deeper?

  1. I don't have anything earth shattering here. I gravitated to the verse that talked about the voice coming from between the 2 cheribum on the ark. I can picture that in the movie. A bright white light, that fades to blue on the edges...eminating from the top of the ark. And a booming voice talking to Moses.
