Acts 1

20 “For,” said Peter, “it is written in the Book of Psalms:
“‘May his place be deserted;
    let there be no one to dwell in it,’[e]
and,
“‘May another take his place of leadership.’[f]

Well again I came up pretty empty.  This caught my attention and I did a little research but did not find anything too insightful.  I just like when the Old and New Testaments connect.  It shows me God's plan crosses time.  In this case its not obvious too me that the verses referenced applied to Judas, but what I take away is that studying the Old Testament is still critical for us.  Even the disciples referenced the OT to guide their direction and decions and they had the privilege of first hand accounts from Jesus.  So if its important for them it is for me.

  1. The more I read the bible....the more I'm fascinated with the repeating numbers idea. Jesus walked the earth for 40 days after his resurrection. It rained for 40 days and 40 nights on Noah. Jesus was tempted for 40 days in the desert. All these numbers coming up the same....interesting. The number 7 repeated over and over again....

    The other thing that caught my attention was the clear separation between Jesus and the Holy Spirit. Almost as if Jesus had to leave before HS could come descend on the disciples. I think it speaks to the relationship between the 3. The only time I can think of where 2 where present at the same time, is when Jesus is being baptized and the dove descends and God speaks. Can you think of any others?
