Ephesians 4

26-27 Go ahead and be angry. You do well to be angry—but don’t use your anger as fuel for revenge. And don’t stay angry. Don’t go to bed angry. Don’t give the Devil that kind of foothold in your life.

Chalked full of practical instructions of how to live.  I don't get angry too often.  But what great advice this simple statement is in all areas of life.  I think if more married couples practiced this simple instruction there would be many more happy marriages.  It it tells us its probably natural to get angry, but it also illustrates how anger is a tool of the Devil.  Staying angry is playing with fire, don't let anger smolder into something the Devil can really use to misdirect your attention away from God.

  1. You nailed it. When we get angry our focus moves to ourselves....how somebody wronged us. It takes the focus off of God, and that's never a good thing.

29 Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.

this one gets me every time. I'm great a cutting people down, and telling you about it and we both laugh......its a talent. But, not a good one. In fact, I'm bringing 2 people down when I do it. Myself and the person I'm talking to.
