this is a in direct opposition to legalistic Christianity. We can't get there by doing what's right and not what's wrong. I have been taught this for EVER! But, its still hard for me to wrap my head around. I often have the feeling of frustration that I can't be more like Christ. I can't do it. Like Paul says....I know what's right, but I don't do it." I need to let go of that, and focus on Jesus and trying to get my heart aligned with God. He knows I can't do it. I should feel guilty about it. I need to accept it, and keep my eyes on him.
24 So the law was our guardian until Christ came that we might be justified by faith. 25 Now that this faith has come, we are no longer under a guardian.
26 So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith,
ReplyDeleteTo your point we will not perfect and will not attain perfection on earth, though I think we should probably be pursuing it. But we have the knowledge through our faith that we are saved in spite of our imperfection and knowledge that we will know what's right an sometimes still do what's wrong. He died to clear us of those sins.
