Leviticus 10

10 1-2 That same day Nadab and Abihu, Aaron’s sons, took their censers, put hot coals and incense in them, and offered “strange” fire to God—something God had not commanded. Fire blazed out from Godand consumed them—they died in God’s presence.

Questions today, no takeaway.  Did Aaron's sons intentionally disobey or did they do something they thought God would like and found out otherwise?  I t does say they offered it to God, its not like they were hiding it.

what say you?

  1. Might have something to do with the heart? Like when Cain and Abel both brought their offerings to God. Abel was pleasing in the sight of the Lord, and Cain's was not. We don't really see why there either. But, my guess is that both Aaron's sons and Cain were acting according to their own plan and priority. That's what God really cares about.

The punishment here seems both severe and quick!
