24 “‘“The Lord bless you
and keep you;
25 the Lord make his face shine on you
and be gracious to you;
26 the Lord turn his face toward you
and give you peace.”’
The graphic you pasted into the last post does help. It helps to see there is some organization or overall message in there. Sometimes it feels like a random list of rules and regs, in these chapters.
The verse I grabbed is from chapter 6. I can't read it without hearing Ed Baker's voice, giving the benediction at the end of the Sunday morning service. I've heard it so many times that it has a tendency to lose some meaning. But, it you read it intentionally, it should be our prayer every morning. There's real power in those words, and and implied relationship.

Well my family giggles and smirks at me every time this benediction is ready. For some reason I was asked to share during worship on a weekend our pastor was gone and I was asked to give the closing benediction. This is the one. I was so nervous that a i completely muffed it saying something about his face shines upon his face. I just ended it without correcting myself. it was awful. my family LOVEs to remind me!
ReplyDeleteOh and I'd love to blast through this and skip on to something like Proverbs! I actually almost went there then for some reason just kept plowing in order.
