Ecclesiastes 12

13  ...Fear God and keep his commandments...
14 For God will bring every deed into judgment,
including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil.

So after everything he told us over the previous 11 chapters about going out and having a good time and enjoying the gifts of this world, he still is telling us to do it within the boundaries of God's commandments.  He reminds us that in the end everything we do and are will come into judgment, even the hidden things.

Hidden struck me, the thought that sometimes my outward actions don't match what my mind is thinking.  I may look as though I'm being nice to someone but in my mind I'm cutting them or judging them and He knows it.  In the work place this is easy to have happen, I need to make sure I'm consistent in action and heart.

  1. This ending feels a little strange to me. It doesn't feel like the rest of the chapter. It sounds like it was a late addition, because someone read it and thought it would promote wild behavior.
Anywho....I can completely relate to what you're saying. The darkness hidden in my heart sometimes, is freightening. Continuous work on it, is definitely needed.

    Peace out Ecclesiastes!

Let's keep going on to Songs of Solomon. I've never really read it, and think it would be good to continue along this path with Solomon.
