Luke 6

45 A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.

I can tell you when I notice nasty things coming out of my mouth, or I see the shock on Kim's face as I say something.....those are the times when I'm not connected.  I've been slacking on my studies, or just haven't been as conscious of God as I should be.  I completely relate to this verse.  When I'm straight...good things come through me.  When I'm not COMPLETELY plugged in, the world seems stronger and I start to give in.

  1. you hit the nail on the head and I can completely relate to your point.

37 “Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.

I don't verbalize my judgments often, but I know I am quick to make them of others. What I usually learn when I get to know someone who I have judged in a negative way is that I sure what not wanted to have walked a mile in their shoes. I feel guilty when I realize how quick I made some snobbish judgment of them based off so little info. Its best to live the judging up to the one who knows all.
