Ephesians 6

 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 
Today I like the imagery of the NIV.  The recognition that the world we live in is a spiritual battlefield but that we can prepare ourselves to withstand anything it throws at us.  None of what will save us is from the resources we have on this earth.

    If I remember correctly, we talked about this last time through....but I love the fact that the "word of God" is the SWORD of the Spirit. It is the only offensive weapon or thing mentioned. That's why readying it is SO important. It arms us with what we need to fend off evil.
    One of my favorite chapters in the new testament.
