Exodus 6

30 But Moses said to the Lord, “Since I speak with faltering lips, why would Pharaoh listen to me?”

This is how I approach God and what he wants me to do.....sometimes.  Why would anyone want to listen to what I have to say?  Because its him talking, ya knucklehead!

God also said to Moses, “I am the Lord. I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac and to Jacob as God Almighty,[a] but by my name the Lord[b] I did not make myself fully known to them.

This verse caught my eye.  I'm not sure I noticed it before.  God is setting up levels of his interaction.  He is telling Moses that he is seeing more of God than anyone has, probably since Adam.  What an honor.  You would think that would make Moses bullet proof in his confidence.....but no.

  1. its funny both of those verses caught my attention as well. especially verse 2 as I also don't ever recall noticing the distinction and really honor that Moses had to have God reveal himself even more to him than those who came before him. It also shows how difficult it is for us as humans to follow and believe. Moses has doubts even after God completely reveals himself to him, how could he doubt for a minute that God would do what he says? but at the slightest apparent bump in the road he is ready to say this isn't going to work. We humans are pretty weak.
