43: 30 Deeply moved at the sight of his brother, Joseph hurried out and looked for a place to weep. He went into his private room and wept there.
As I read 42 I didn't want to stop at the end so I continued to 43. I find the story fascinating but I didn't have any particular takeaway. The one thing I noted is the powerful feeling of love for family. Joseph had been betrayed by his brothers. He has gone on to unbelievable power, but yet at the sight of Benjamin he is overcome with emotion.
Blood is thick. Stay close with family its worth way more than any amount of money or power I can ever accumulate.

it is a riveting story. I think after reading what you wrote...I noted that Joseph feel strongly about family....but especially for the one who is from his mother. In other words, he feel strongly about his half brothers, but his feeling are completely different for Benjamin. Giving him a larger portion of the food. Perhaps he sees Benjamin as the one that is living his "old" life...being the youngest of all the brothers and from the same mother.
ReplyDeleteI COMPLETELY with you. Family is HUGE. Those are the people that will be there for you through thick and thin. The memories you have of your family have nothing to do with possessions or things. Its always around the people and the experiences.
