Exodus 9-10

10:27 But the Lord hardened Pharaoh’s heart, and he was not willing to let them go

more of the same, Pharaoh asked for forgiveness then slips back to his ways.  The only thing that does bug me is why is God hardening him?  that doesn't seem like free choice?  my simple mind can't always see the logic

  1. 21 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand toward the sky so that darkness spreads over Egypt—darkness that can be felt.” 22 So Moses stretched out his hand toward the sky, and total darkness covered all Egypt for three days. 23 No one could see anyone else or move about for three days. Yet all the Israelites had light in the places where they lived.

For a lot of the plagues there are natural ways these things can happen (as demonstrated on the discovery/history channel) and I believe God directed those things to take place. But this one is strange. I love the description of darkness that can be felt. That sentence says a LOT. But, how is it light where the Israelites are? I would like to see someone explain that one.
