22 So the warden put Joseph in charge of all those held in the prison, and he was made responsible for all that was done there. 23 The warden paid no attention to anything under Joseph’s care, because the Lord was with Joseph and gave him success in whatever he did.
I can say, "poor Joseph," and "lucky Joseph" all at the same time. He keeps getting the short end of the stick. Not because of his own doing, but because he is favored. His situation keeps changing, but the jealously of those around him keeps landing him in tight spots. And yet, through it all he is blessed by God.
I think the lesson in this chapter for me is if I am on God's plan.....I will be fine. In fact, the perception of the world might be that I am struggling, but in reality I'm great. His perspective could have been "woe is me." But, he knows that God will take care of him no matter his circumstance. That should be my mindset.

Happy New Year! I like your take, it really doesn't matter what others think.
ReplyDelete9 No one is greater in this house than I am. My master has withheld nothing from me except you, because you are his wife. How then could I do such a wicked thing and sin against God?”
I also noted how Joseph recognizes how blessed he is and as a human is doing all he can not to sin. In a time when it seems sleeping with whoever you want is the norm he resists.
